Green Valley, AZ... Not all it’s cracked up to be
Star Rating - 9/28/2020
My wife and I have lived here since 2016. Since GV is populated with oldsters we had thought it would be a welcoming community. Thinking neighbors would bring over dinner considering we’d not unpacked yet. Not on your life. The first visitor was from the HOA wanting money and sign these papers. Also told us about all of the misguided neighbors who’d painted their home an “unapproved” color or had “too many” yard sales...
People do not acknowledge you, preferring to turn their nose up at you instead. A local doctor put it this way, “Most folks living in GV used to be somebody, problem is they still think of themselves in that way thus you’re looked down upon”...
The medical care in GV as well as Tucson is very poor, doctors offices not following Federal guidelines on Medicare etc. preferring to “shoot from the hip” as far as how things are done. Customer service is not a priority by any means...
I wish you luck if you move to GV, we’re definitely leaving due to to many problems.

I just bought a home last April, 2022. My neighbors are very friendly. In fact on the day I moved in, 6 neighbors introduced themselves to me and welcomed me to the community of Green Valley, AZ. One week after having moved in, my neighbor two doors down gave me a homemade banana bread. It is worth mentioning that Green Valley is GREEN. This was an unusual but welcomed sight as I had moved from Las Vegas where most greenery is the fake turf. The greenery is everywhere. The community is also helpful in so many ways. There is a lunch program called "don't eat lunch alone". If you are a resident, the cost is $3 for lunch (salad, entree, dessert, drink). I love it here!
